Hey Y’all! I’ve been holding out on some exciting things going on and finally decided to share… we’ve moved!
Ten years ago, we moved to my husband, Ben’s, hometown in eastern Kentucky when he took a youth ministry job there. Since then, we’ve had 2 babies, changed jobs, and added a dog to the mix, too! Three years ago, Ben jumped into a dream to be self-employed doing design work, and recently got into a program for web development. This new program is located about 2 hours from where we were living, in my hometown of Lexington, KY. So, we’ve sold our house and moved to Lexington for the time-being while he finishes there for the next couple of months. After that, our dream is to move to Amelia Island / Fernandina Beach, Florida. We fell in love with the area while on vacation there eight or nine years ago and are so excited about making it our new home! The small town charm and beautiful coastal scenery won us over from our first visit.
While we are ready for this new adventure, it’s definitely a tough transition to make. We loved our house and are leaving so much family & friends. It’s the only town our kids have ever lived in and the only house they remember. Where they learned to ride their bikes, made their first friends, and caught lightning bugs in the yard. The home where Brilee has had countless tea parties and Graham has fought epic battles dressed as his favorite super heroes. It’s been such a blessing having them grow up with family close by (grandparents and cousins, aunt & uncle on the same street!) Giving that up is definitely the hardest part about moving, especially for the kids. Even though leaving is so hard, we know it’s not “goodbye”, but “see you later” since we have family & friends to come back and visit!
